Mighty Real Queer Detroit: Queer Imagination

June 1-30, 2022

A Metro Detroit regional art event featuring 16 exhibitions, 140 artists, and 600 artworks at sixteen different locations across Macomb, Oakland, and Wayne counties. The Anton Art Center will display over 70 artworks by 30 participating artists.

The exhibition presents a month-long historical examination of the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community and its longtime allies, featuring established and emerging Detroit artists, as well as artists whose careers were shortened by HIV/AIDS.

To kick off the exhibition, an Opening Reception & Artist Talk event, hosted by Macomb County Pride, will be held on Saturday, June 4th, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in-person at the Anton Art Center. This event is open to the public and will give attendees the opportunity to meet artists Nickie Gunning, Geno Harris, and Charzette Torrence to discuss their inspirations, as well as enhance the exhibition experience.

Opening Reception & Artist Talk on Saturday, June 4, 2pm
