The pandemic is now in its eighth month and will more than likely interrupt the development in children’s lives for a while longer. We take heart knowing that many of the lessons learned at the Anton have continued to be practiced at home. Parents have reported that their children have created art in all of its forms in the many unfulfilled hours that each family faces every day. Art never ceases as we strive to stay real in these unreal times. The Anton has made major efforts to stay relevant by offering online classes, sponsoring an international art competition and by keeping the hope of the future alive through art.
Running the Anton through a pandemic is not only costly but constantly evolving. The unrelenting burdens of COVID-19 continue to keep us all under pressure. While we continue to work from home, our volunteers and staff have continued to plan and work toward a brighter future. We have worked to provide online arts content for all ages and have held some in-person classes when guidance allowed. Despite the challenges we continue to face, we are resolute in providing the very best in arts education and exhibitions in Macomb County.
In times like these, your participation takes on an even greater significance and sends an important message that our community supports each other and the important work we do each day. Please consider making a gift in any amount that feels comfortable to you, and support the arts in your community today.
We work every day to enrich and inspire people of all ages through the arts. Will you join us?
