Important Accessibility Notice

Letter from the Director
Dear Visitors,
Please read an important update regarding accessibility at The Art Center below.
Our elevator, an essential part of ensuring access to our classrooms, galleries, office, and programs, has reached a point where it can no longer be reliably repaired and must be replaced. We recognize that this presents a significant accessibility challenge and may impact some visitors’ ability to fully experience the Art Center during this time. I acknowledge the frustration and inconvenience this may cause and want to affirm that accessibility is not optional, it is central to our mission and values.
The Anton Art Center aims to provide access to experiences that enrich all people through creative expression. When access is limited, our team’s ability to meet these goals is hindered. Please know that we are actively working to address this issue as quickly and responsibly as possible.
Replacing and modernizing the elevator is a substantial undertaking, but it is also an opportunity to invest in a safer, more reliable, and fully accessible future for our community. We are currently exploring, examining, and pursuing multiple funding strategies and options, including private philanthropy and institutional support, to make this critical project a reality.
In the meantime, our staff is doing everything we can to assist and support participants and visitors. If you have questions about access for a specific program or visit, we encourage you to reach out to our team to work with you.
Thank you for your continued support, patience, and belief in the importance of access to the arts for everyone. We will share updates as we make progress and are deeply grateful to be part of a community that values inclusion, creativity, and accessibility.
With appreciation,
Matt Matthews (he/him)
Executive Director
